Automated Assembly Corporation is a world leader in high volume Roll-to-Roll flexible circuit assembly. The photos show polyester RFID technology using 63/37 solder as the components interconnect. Making the product approximately 100 times more reliable than conductive adhesives in thermally active environments. Fully automated Roll-to-Roll assembly lines are used to process 1,000 ft. master rolls of flexible circuits. Populating these large rolls is very cost effective and reliable. All of our robots are designed and fabricated in house.

Roll to Roll Manufacturing Process on Flexible Circuitry

Designed for applications where high volume, high quality, and low cost are required. Over the past decade Automated Assembly Corp. has developed Roll-to-Roll assembly and became the first in the world to place IC’s, Flip Chip’s, and standard SMT components in a fully automated Roll-to-Roll assembly process.

Our Roll-to-Roll process starts by using 500ft or 1,000ft rolls by 12" wide. That is over 3 football fields in length, or .186 miles per roll! Our Roll-to-Roll process uses 100% optical recognition. This eliminates the need for the older technology tractor feed systems, and expensive rotary punching. We start a roll of material in our equipment and watch the camera’s lock-and-load.
