Automated Assembly Corporation’s laminating capability enables us to provide our RFID package with a cover film and adhesive on the bottom side for ease of assembly.  Our inline digital imaging capability allows us to print high quality graphics on the cover film in a cost effective manner. Automated Assembly Corporation has laser cutting and excising capability.  This capability saves time and money by eliminating the process of tooling.  AAC provides fast turn prototypes with high quality part definition.  Our laser system has vision registration and high accuracy repetition.  Laser cut products are available in discrete part or in roll to roll form.

This laser system enables intricate outline or cut line definitions that were not possible with tooling.  Products can be “kiss cut” on an interleaf liner so that parts can be delivered on a roll and then peeled off for assembly.

AAC has intelligent buffer with automatic data compression which stores your files with all the settings; files are addressable and repeatable in any order and then may be deleted after completion to free memory.  Buffer can be switched to single file mode.  Our LCD display shows current file name, laser power, laser speed, run time, files loaded, and diagnostic menus.  Our current largest maximum part size laser dimensions are 37 inches wide by 23 inches deep and 9 inches thick.  Our machines have the ability to Z-axis, auto focus; X-Y beam positioning with r acer motion technology, and enhanced vector cutting with system status indicator for optimum performance.

High volume flip chip on flexible circuitry is routine at Automated Assembly.  The original roll-to-roll process developed at AAC was created specifically for flip chip assembly onto one thousand foot rolls of circuitry.  The flip chip die is bonded using solder inter-connects to a variety of substrates including Polyimide, PEN and even Polyester materials.

The use of solder for bonding flip chips is recommended because the inter-connect has good mechanical strength and superior electrical performance.  Conductive adhesive may also be used as an inter-connect when assembling flip chips.  The electrical and mechanical properties of conductive adhesive are not as robust as solder, however conductive adhesive bonded flip chips may be suitable for ambient environment applications.

Automated Assembly Corporation is a world leader in high volume Roll-to-Roll flexible circuit assembly and polyester RFID technology.  Our products are 100 times more reliable in thermally active environments than conductive adhesives.  Our Roll-to-Roll process begins with rolls that are over 3 football fields in length and only 12″ wide.  The process uses 100% optical recognition, eliminating the use of tractor feed systems and expensive rotary punching.

Automated specializes in designing and building Rugged RFID tags that can withstand harsh environments.   Most RFID tags fail when exposed to temperature variations, but our RFID tags have proven mechanically robust,  surviving even the rough handling of baggage and package transportation.

Other technologies such as anisotropic and conductive polymer adhesives typically fail after only 5 cycles, but our inter-connect solder technology is the most robust in the world.  Automated’s inner-connect solder tags have passed 2,000 hours of thermal shock, from negative -55C to 125C with zero failures.  If you need a tag that can hold up to freezing temperatures and rough handling while still providing an operational read, our rugged tag technology has got the competition whipped.

Our Rugged RFID Tags are built to survive and thrive in all environments.  Our robust design makes these RFID tags ideal for applications that involve extreme temperatures, tough mechanical stressing and exposure to corrosive environments.  Custom inlets allow these tags to go from freezing to boiling without failure.
