Scott Lindblad (CEO) Interviewed on Greater MSP About Flexible Circuits

Automated Assembly CEO, Scott Lindblad was honored to be interviewed by Cyndy Brucato for the “Greater MSP” Business show about the history of manufacturing flexible circuits.  The show aired on January 26, 2013 at 10:30 A.M.

Automated Assembly Corporation™ was selected by Greater MSP as a great example of the type of advanced technology manufacturing businesses located in the State of Minnesota. Products demonstrated by Mr. Lindblad, are Automated’s expertise in using robotic equipment designed and built by Automated and are used to solder electronic components onto flex-circuitry.

Automated Assembly’s Expertise in Flexible Circuits

Flexible circuits, also known as flex circuits, is a technology for assembling electronic components on to flexible plastic or other transparent materials. Flexible circuits and electronic assemblies may be manufactured using identical components used for rigid circuit boards, allowing the board to conform to a desired shape or flex.

Automated Assembly are experts in flex and have a patented portfolio that includes the ability to solder circuits onto polyester further reducing manufacturing costs.

CEO Scott Lindblad Interviewed on “Greater MSP”

The respected and highly sought after “Greater MSP” Business Show selects businesses based on their contribution to the local economy.  As a small business Automated Assembly employs a skilled workforce experienced in running robotic equipment and understanding the skills required to build circuits that withstand the rigors of working in extreme temperatures, vibration, abuse.  Some circuits are ruggedized to withstand severe shock or calamity.  Automated is an ISO 9001 certified employer.

As Cyndy Brucato pointed out; the highlight of the Greater MSP show was Automated Assembly’s connection to James Bond.  The taillights of 007’s Austin Martin is made by Automated Assembly and as Scott Lindblad pointed out after the Austin Martin car crash recorded in the film “Skyfall” the movie, “the only thing working on the car when it came to a stop were the LED taillights“.

Other products displayed during the interview, included Automated’s manufacturing expertise in the making of cellular phones, calculators and automobile parts all produced on flexible circuitry used to reduce size.

Automated Assembly is located in Lakeville, MN and is also the largest producer of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification Tags) for the transportation industry.  Automated produces flex-circuits for the medical industry using our expertise to manufacture and assist in improving the effectiveness of each product as part of our services.
